How to get there

Bombay, Ahmedabad and Rajkot are good bases from which to get to Bhuj.

  • By air: Indian Airlines flies daily to Bhuj from Bombay, except on Wednesday and Saturday.

  • By road: State transport buses and private luxury coaches connect Bhuj with various centres of Gujarat. Bhuj is connected by state highway upto Bhachau to Ahmedabad by National Highway 8A ; 310 kms. And from Gandhidham it is a two hour ride to Bhuj and lots of buses ply the route. Mandvi is 60 kms from Bhuj.
  • By rail There are direct trains between Bhuj-Ahmedabad on meter guage line and or Bombay on the broad gauge line from Gandhidham. Road. There is a daily superfast train from Bombay to Gandhidham via Ahmedabad.

Where to stay and eat

Prince on Station road offers luxury rooms and meals in a ‘multi-cuisine’ restaurant and is the best hotel in town. Anam also on Station road provides comfortable, air conditioned rooms and good Gujarati thali.

Best time to visit

Between November and April. Summers can be uncomfortably hot.
