- How to get there:
Belur is some 220 kms/ a four hour drive away from Bangalore on the NH 48, the highway to Mangalore in southern Karnataka. Belur and Halebid are only 12-15 kms apart. While Sravanabelagola is about 50 kms closer to Bangalore.
There are buses every half hour between Hassan and Bangalore. And from Hassan there are hourly buses to Belur (35 km) and Halebid (31 km). There are several buses daily from Bangalore directly to Belur and Halebid and between Belur and Halebid.
Mysore on the other hand is just over three hours away from Belur and Halebid.
