There is a lot of speculation about the bikes that are expected to hit the Indian market in 2016. According to sources, here are the top 10 bikes that would probably be unveiled at the Auto Expo ’16 –

#1 BMW G 310R
Developed by BMW Motorrad, this is the most awaited bike of 2016. This bike will be manufactured by TVS in India. Designed and engineered in Germany, the G310R is a 313cc engine bike with 33.6 BHP and 28Nm of torque. It boasts a top speed of 145 kmph with a fuel efficiency of 30-35 km/l. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh.
#2 UM Renegade Sport
UM Motorcycles is unveiling a couple of cruiser bikes ‘Commando and Sport S at the Auto Expo ’16. These bikes have been specifically designed for the Indian market in collaboration with the bike maker ‘Lohia’. The bikes will be manufactured in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Both the bikes will be powered by the same 300 cc engine which will deliver 26 bhp power and 23 Nm of torque. These bikes will range from 1.25 – 2 lakh.
#3 DSK Benelli TRK 502
The Benelli TRK 502 is designed for the adventure tours. This bike will have a host of features like 20 litre fuel tank, LED headlight, high ground clearance, ABS and a lot more. This bike comes with a 500 cc engine that delivers 48 BHP of power at 8500 rpm. With a six speed gearbox and a hydraulic clutch, this bike looks very promising. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakh.
#4 DSK Benelli Leoncino
Leoncino belongs to the lightweight category of Benelli bikes. This one is powered by liquid-cooled, 500cc engine which delivers 47 bhp power and 45nm of torque. Again, the price of this bike is set to be around Rs 5 lakh.
#5 DSK Benelli Tornado 302
DSK Benelli will launch Tornado 302 in India. This is a fully faired bike with 300 cc liquid cooled, parallel twin engine which delivers around 35.5 bhp of power at 12000 rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 9000 rpm. This bike is expected to be priced around 3.25 lakh.
#6 Triumph Street Twin
The Street Twin by Triumph is believed to be the most affordable Bonneville in the Indian market. The Street Twin is the entry level model of the 2016 Bonneville range of bikes. The Street Twin runs on a 900 cc engine liquid cooled engine with a power of 54bhp and a torque of 80Nm at 3,230rpm. The Street Twin’s price tag is around 6.5 to 7 lakh.
#7 Hero HX 250R
Hero HX 250R is powered by a 249 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine with an output of 31 bhp and 26Nm of power and torque. With a six speed gearbox, Honda HX 250R is likely to compete with CBR 250R. The price is expected to be around Rs 1,75,000.
#8 Honda NXR 160
Honda brings NXR160 for the off-road enthusiasts out there in India. The bike comes with a 162cc engine with a max output of 14.6 bhp of power at 8500 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. This bike is expected to be priced around Rs 73000.
#9 Yamaha MT-03
Built on the lines of its predecessor YZF-R3, Yamaha India will soon launch YZF MT-03 in 2016. It will have the same 321 cc liquid cooled engine with 42bhp power at 10,750 rpm. This one is a little lighter than the previous model. This bike is both fun and comfortable. It will be priced around 3 lakh.
#10 Indian Scout Sixty
Polaris-owned Indian Motorcycles launch the Indian Scout Sixty in 2016. The Scout Sixty has been designed for the Indian market. It comes with an engine displacement of 999.6 cc with a power output of 78 bhp. The Scout Sixty comes with a five speed gearbox and is expected to be priced around Rs 11 lakh.
