Q. I feel some competent person should take up writing about not only Gen Rikhye but also other military luminaries like him. I am sure here would be many more such giants in Indian military.I think the principal reason for India's failure to make a mark and make its presence felt in world commity inspite of its strides in economis cield is the lack of sense of strategic geopolitic importance and a long term policy of securing and advancing its interests. Only Sardar Patel from the political field had such vision and plans. Therefore any study of India's military leaders would be welcome
