Rediff.com brings you the buzz around the sportspersons competing in the Sochi Winter Olympics!

The Winter Olympics opening ceremony kicked-off on February 7 at Sochi's shining new Fisht Stadium on the shores of the Black Sea, and viewers around the world witnessed a journey through Russian history.

On the ice the biggest roar went to Olga Graf on Day 1, who finished a surprise third to give the host nation its first medal.

Russian speed skater Olga Graf ripped down the skin of her skin suit in delight after she won a bronze medal in the Olympic Games 3,000 metres. Irene Wust of the Netherlands won the women's 3,000 metres speed skating crown.

When the 30-year-old speed skater raised her arms in triumph after crossing the finishing line, she pulled her zip down to her waist.

The tight skin burst open to reveal that she wasn't wearing any underwear.

Soon, Graf put her hand to her mouth in embarrassment and quickly zipped back her suit.

US figure skater Jason Brown has the most talked about hairstyle at this year's Sochi Olympics 2014.

Brown's flowing ponytail is in fact so popular that it has spawned its own Twitter feed, @2014ponypower.

Ashley Wagner's trademark ponytail flip

Ashley Wagner's hairstyle is a little more polarizing. The US figure skater, whose selection in the team created a bit of controversy, gave a lackluster short program in the team event Saturday.

But after her loss, she smiled and gave her trademark ponytail flip.

Twitter abuzz with athletes named Wank

Sochi Winter Olympics fans flooded Twitter with jokes regarding names of athletes Andreas Wank and Semen Pavlichenko.

One of the users said that there is hope that Wank comes first, while another user said that there is a ‘delicious irony’ that the 25-year-old ski jumper partakes in the only skiing event where he doesn't have a pole in his hand.

Another user of the micro-blogging site that Winter Olympics is amazing as there is a Russian luger called Semen, and a German ski jumper called Wank.

The Sochi games have been surrounded with a lot of controversy because of Russia's controversial gay rights law.
