Curling just got exciting, thanks to the captain of Russia's women's team Anna Sidorova. She has been the best Russia athlete in the previous Olympics and no doubt will play a big role again in Sochi Games.

This impressive snowboarder is a schoolgirl.  The gorgeous blue-eyed blonde just won gold in X Games and will be hoping to repeat the performance at the Winter Olympics.

Lolo Jones (United States)

Track and field star Lolo Jones is the most high-profile crossover athlete to try her hand at winter sports since former NFL running back Herschel Walker took off his shoulder pads and climbed into a bobsled.

Jones, 31, is in her second season as a push athlete, or brakewoman. She will become the ninth American to compete at both a Summer and Winter Games, and will have plenty of cameras swinging in her direction, for obvious reasons.

She ain't going to win a medal, but Vanessa-Mae, 34, will still capture her fair share of attention.

She made her mark on the world stage when she broke from tradition and became known for her sexy, glamorous violin style and for mixing classical music with pop.

Her first techno pop-style album, ‘The Violin Player,’ was released in 1995 and reached No 11 in the UK albums chart, selling over 10 million albums.
