Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that beating Liverpool in the Capital One Cup was a big relief as it was a big game for the side after losing to Manchester City in an embarrassing 4-1 defeat recently.

According to the Mirror, Moyes said that after losing at Anfield a few weeks ago and at the Etihad on Sunday, the team wanted to put it right, adding that what was important was that the whole club showed how they were hurt by that game on the weekend.

The manager said that he would sort it and turn it around, adding that he had no doubt about it.

Returning Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has vowed to do his best to help his club and expressed his pleasure to be back on the field despite United beating Liverpool 1-0 in their Capital One Cup match. The match was the Uruguayan international's first club game since being banned for ten matches for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic in April.

According to the Mirror, Suarez had claimed last month that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and the club had reneged on a deal to allow him to leave for a side in the Champions League in the wake of a £40,000,001 deal from Arsenal.

However, Suarez now appeared committed to helping his side out in the future, atleast this season, by saying that even if he is disappointed at the loss, he is feeling good as he and his teammates played well and created chances, adding that he is happy that he is back on the field to help Liverpool do their best.

Stating that the game was very close, Rodgers said that he felt that Suarez showed an excellent form on the field, adding that he is a fighter and his determination is high.
