Is Tottenham Hotspurs' Gareth Bale worth a 100 million Euros?
The 2012-13 English Premier League season belonged to Gareth Bale.
The Welshman had scored over 30 goals for club and country last seson. His efforts won him both, the PFA Players' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
In May, he added the FWA (Football Writer's Association) Player of the Year Award to his kitty.
The 24-year-old’s tremendous speed, great crossing ability, a great left foot and exceptional physical qualities have all the big clubs vying for him for the upcoming season.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have waged an increasingly aggressive campaign to sign Bale during this transfer window, and willing to splurge heavily to have him in the squad.
After initially declining Real’s offers, Tottenham have reportedly agreed to transfer Bale in exchange for a world-record fee of about 86 million pounds plus having Luka Modric or Spanish yongster Alvaro Morata.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez introduced the Galacticos policy in his first tenure when he purchased at least one big player in the summer of every year including the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Ronaldo and David Beckham. It seems he is keen to revive that era again as Real Madrid seeks to put up a stiff challenge to Barcelona's dominance.
But the question here is, is Bale's price worth his talent? Will he survive the demanding, highly technical game at the La Liga?
We ask you, dear readers, to tell us if Bale IS really worth 86 million pounds?
