I-League: Pune FC seal 2nd spot; down Arrows 2-0

Pune FC clinched the second spot in I-League 2012-13 campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over Pailan Arrows in a Round 26 encounter at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune on Saturday.

-Churchill Brothers crowned I-League champions

Goals from strikers James Moga (39th minute) and Boima "Jerry" Karpeh (65th) handed Pune FC all three points who logged their 16th win of the season.

The tally was highest ever achieved by Pune FC who took their tally to an all-time best 52 points from 26 games. Currently Pune FC are level on points with champions Churchill Brothers.

United SC beat ONGC

I-League top scorer Ranty Martins struck twice as United SC drubbed ONGC 3-1 to end their campaign with a fourth place finish at the Kalyani Stadium, Kolkata.

The Nigerian striker, who topped the scoring chart with 26 goals, converted a 29th minute spot kick and went on to pump in one more at the break.

New Zealand recruit Kayne Vincent's header in the 57th minute sealed the issue for the purple brigade while Lalmuanpuia reduced the margin with a freekick in the 70th minute for ONGC.

United SC finished with a tally 44 points behind third-placed East Bengal while ONGC remained on 31 points.

Sporting draw against Mumbai FC

John Coutinho's late goal helped Mumbai FC to hold Sporting Clube de Goa to a 2-2 draw in their concluding match of the I-League played at Tilak Maidan in Vasco.

Yakubu Yusif's penalty had given Mumbai FC a deserving lead in the 34th minute but Sporting hit back in the second session with goals from Dawson Fernandes (53rd minute) and Victorino Fernandes (75th minute) until Coutinho struck the equaliser in the second minute of added time.

The draw takes Sporting Clube de Goa tally to 35 points from 26 matches to remain at sixth place while Mumbai FC took their tally to 32 points to finish 8th.

Both the teams, who were looking to finish among the top half, were eager to score first.
