Giggs reckons Van Gaal in the same mould as Alex Ferguson
It’s been a week since Louis van Gaal began as Manchester United’s new manager.
Hopes of better results this season for the former English Premier League champions rest firmly on the shoulders of the Dutchman.
And his assistant, Ryan Giggs, believes that it is possible for the Manchester club to taste renewed success under the experienced Van Gaal.
According to the British media, Giggs is of the opinion that Van Gaal work ethic that Sir Alex Ferguson possessed.
“They have an aura about them. That comes from the success they have had. They demand the players respond and they demand respect,” Giggs told The Guardian.
Impressed with Van Gaal’s approach, Giggs added, “In the short space of time I have worked with him you can see why he has been a success. He is infectious. He wants everything right from the first minute of training to the last. Everything we are working from is the blueprint he sent over from the World Cup, every minute of every session is laid down. He has now taken over.”

'Onus on seniors to encourage youngsters'
Van Gaal got off to a perfect start with a 7-0 victory over LA Galaxy in front of a crowd of almost 87,000 at the Pasadena Rose Bowl on Wednesday night.
This season United will miss the experienced legs and minds of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Giggs himself but the Welshman puts the onus on the youngsters to come good in the upcoming season.
“This is a great chance for the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans, with Rio and Vida going. It’s a chance for them to go to the next level,” Giggs told The Telegraph.
“We know they are quality players and they need to show it on a consistent basis. You hope they respond in a positive way.
“I’m sure they can’t wait to get onto Old Trafford and produce the form they are all capable of.”
Giggs admitted that the management will expect the senior players in the squad to push their younger team-mates.
“There is a big onus on the likes of Wayne (Rooney), Robin (van Persie), Michael Carrick, Fletch (Darren Fletcher),” Giggs said.
