Manchester United’s Michael Carrick in support of the unsettled striker Wayne Rooney has said that he is ‘one of the team’ and all the players were with him.

Rooney was given a warm reception by the travelling United by applauses and chants of his name, but the striker did not take part in the celebrations following the final goals of Van Persie and Welbeck to acknowledge fans.

Carrick said that he was glad to see Rooney as the substitute who came and set up two goals which makes him a real threat adding that he's a big Manchester United player and one of the team and they all stick together, the Guardian reports.

He further added that the players fight for each other when they are on the pitch and do what they can for Rooney and he is certainly part of that.

Win against Swansea was a message for the opponents

Manchester United player Patrice Evra is taken aback by the fact that the club has been almost written off in this season's Premier League title race.

According to metro.co.uk, despite getting their 20th championship with four games to spare last term, then finishing 11 points ahead of their nearest rivals Manchester City, United were only third favourites with the majority of bookmakers.

That situation remains the same, even after the 4-1 win at Swansea, with Chelsea and City tipped to fight it out for the main prize, the report said.

Evra said that it was not just the case in this season but every year and it was unbelievable how people said that Manchester United would finish fourth or fifth in the league.

The player said that the win against Swansea was a message for the club's opponents that Moyes wanted to win.

Betting site Paddy Power has put up a billboard outside Emirates Stadium for their ''Ball of Shame'' advertisement that accuses Liverpool striker Luis Suarez of cheating.

According to metro.co.uk, the billboard, which reads ''Biting, diving, CHEATING. Keep it up Luis!'' was on display for Gunners fans before the season opener against Aston Villa.

Primarily used as a tool to promote the betting company's ''Ball of Shame'' campaign, it also displays to Arsenal fans what they've managed to escape this summer, with the club's pursuit of the Uruguayan seemingly coming to an end this week, the report said.

Suarez is still serving a ten-match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last season and was being targeted by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, the report added.
