India's Sania Mirza continued to stay on top of the WTA women's doubles ranking following her recent victory in the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

Sania had partnered Czech Republic’s Barbora Strycova to claim the title, following 6-1, 6-1win over Chinese pair of Chen Liang and Zhaoxuan Yang.

Sania (9730) is now only five points adrift of former doubles partner Martina Hingis (9725) in the rankings chart.

Sania and Strycova had earlier ousted Hingis and CoCo Vandeweghe in the final of the Cincinnati Open last month.

The Indo-Czech pair first joined forces in Cincinnati.

Among the Indian men, Sakth Myneni dropped one spot to be placed 138th in the list but is still the top-ranked Indian male player.

Ramkumar Ramanathan, who featured in the recent Davis Cup tie against Spain, plummeted 10 places to 229, while out of action Yuki Bhambri dropped a whopping 62 places to be placed 282nd in the chart.

In the men's doubles rankings, Rohan Bopanna was unmoved at 18th, while veteran Leander Paes has moved up four places to 60th.
