Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has shared a dark secret about his past revealing that he was held at knifepoint by his brothers because they wanted money.

The The Tottenham Hotspur star player posted a 1,649-word status on Facebook where he claimed that the issues between him and his family almost pushed him to suicide.

The former Real Madrid loanee said that he woke up and knifes was held to his throat and he found his two brothers when he opened his eyes.

The 31-year-old continued that he convinced his brothers that killing him and taking money won't solve the issue.

Adebayor added that there were times when he really wanted to give up but his sister helped him to get out of the mess.
