India beat China for bronze

India beat China 3-0 for the bronze medal in the 8th Rashid International Volleyball Championship on Friday night in Dubai.

The Indian men scored a confident 25-18, 25-22, 25-15 win in 60 minutes over China, while Iran defeated Egypt 25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 25-17 for the gold medal, according to a press release from the Volleyball Federation of India.

Defending champions India had defeated Iran in its first league tie in the tournament 27-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-20 and led its four-team group with two more victories over United Arab Emirates and Kazhaksthan, both in straight games 3-0, but lost to Egypt in the semi-finals at 1-3.

Indian players, Y Subba Rao and K J Kapildev, were adjudged best blocker and setter respectively in the eight-day tournament, according to the release.
