September 11, 2012 17:35 IST

India's Divij Sharan broke into the top-100 in the ATP doubles ranking as he jumped 15 places to a career best 94th spot, while Yuki Bhambri also achieved his career-best singles rank with a nine-place jump to 179 in the latest list released on Tuesday.

The left-handed Divij had reached the finals of the Shanghai Challenger event last week along with Yuki and the good show catapulted him to top-100.

The 26-year-old Divij is a reserve player in India's Davis Cup squad and it will be surprising if he is not drafted in to play the doubles rubber.

The draw for tie against New Zealand will be made on Thursday and the captain can make changes in the squad one hour before the draw.

India now has four players in the top-100 in the doubles with Leander Paes being the highest-ranked player at number five.

Playing at the US Open final, helped Paes climb four places. Rohan Bopanna is the next best Indian at number 15, falling four spots. Mahesh Bhupathi remained at the18 spot.

In the singles rankings, Yuki, who will lead the Indian challenge in the Davis Cup from Friday, rose to career-best ranking of 179.

Vishnu is placed at number 262, followed by Sriram Balaji (337) and Sanam Singh (367).

In the WTA rankings, Sania Mirza is ranked 19th in the doubles and 293 in the singles, which she has stopped playing.
