Geet Sethi was halted in his stride in the semi-finals of the IBSF World Snooker Championships in Manama, Bahrain, on Wednesday night.

The third seeded Indian ace was beaten by Ireland's Joe Delany by four frames to two.

Delany, seeded No. 2, won 51-44, 21-72(47), 51-41, 52-63, 53-51, 56-15 and will take defending champion Dean O'Kane of New Zealand, who narrowly beat Walid Hatim of Kuwait 59-83, 69-20, 30-58, 74-48, 41-74, 83-74, 58-20 in the other semi-final.

Earlier in the day, Sethi, a former world billiards champion, scored a 4-1 victory over Ahned Al Tekrit of Kuwait in the quarter-finals at the Juffair Dome.

His 58-39, 58-69, 55-22, 78-53, 66-8 victory included a break of 61 in the last frame.

Delaney had beaten Alan Trigg of England 68-32, 66-59, 38-53, 58-54, 17-46, 47-33 in another quarter-final, while Hatim beat Mohammed Yousef of Pakistan.

O'Kane was taken to hospital after becoming unwell during his pre-quarter-final match against Gareth Perry of Wales but returned to complete the match, which he won 4-2.

He then returned to hospital for further tests before his quarter-final match against another Welshman, Ron Jones, who he beat 4-1.
