Victoria Beckham will work with the United Nations as a goodwill ambassador for their UNAIDS campaign.

The wife of super-hot former England footballer David Beckham says she was inspired following a recent trip to South Africa, where she met with children stricken by the deadly disease.

A friend of the star told The Sun: "She wants to give back by doing what she can."

The Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer visited Cape Town in February as part of the 'Born Free' initiative, which tackles the issue of HIV being transmitted from mothers to their children.

UNAIDS aims to reach 15 million people living with HIV with antiretroviral treatment and reduce sexual transmission of HIV by 50 per cent by 2015.

Victoria, who turns 40 next week, and her husband are dab hands when it comes to charitable ventures.

Last year they donated thousands of pounds worth of designer clothes to their local Red Cross charity shop in Chelsea to raise money for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.

Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark and golfer Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland

A golf fan has reportedly bet 1000 pounds on Northern Irish ace Rory McIlroy winning the US Masters after allegedly seeing the golfer's face in a Danish pastry.

College lecturer Rob Price, who picked up the buttery treat from his local bakery in Andover, took it as a 'sign' that the golfer's face appeared in a pastry from his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki's home country, to back the Irishman at the golfing tournament.

According to the Daily Star, a spokesman from online betting exchange Betfair said that although Price has chosen an odd way of putting his bet, he has a fair chance with Tiger Woods dropping out of the tournament and the rest of the world's golfers having a mixed season.
