London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal advanced to the quarter-finals of the All-England Badminton Championships with a straight games victory over Belaetrix Manuputi of Indonesia, in London, on Thursday night.

The world No 2 Indian ace won 21-16, 21-11 in 34 minutes to set up a meeting with sixth seeded Chinese Shixian Wang on Saturday.

Rising Indian shuttler P V Sindhu, however, crashed out after losing to fourth seed Juliane Schenk of Germany in the pre-quarter-finals of the US $400,000 Super series premier tournament.

World number 16 Sindhu was beaten 17-21, 14-21 in 39 minutes.

Saina NehwalAmong others, top Indian male shuttler Parupalli Kashyap booked a place in the pre-quarter-finals. The world No 9 beat Jen Hao Hsu of

Chinese Taipei 21-17, 21-18.

Saina used her smashes to good use to outclass the Indonesian, who played well at the net but did not have enough strokes in her armoury to challenge the Indian.

After surging ahead 7-3, Saina went into the breather at 11-7 but the Indonesian calwed back at 12-12.

However, the Indian was unfazed and slowly marched ahead to pocket the first game.

In the second game, Saina was more dominating and 11-2 up midway. After that, though the Belaetrix tried her best, Saina didn't give much chance to her unfancied rival.
