Monsoon scooter rally on June 20

The 14th edition of the Gulf Oil Monsoon Scooter Rally, which offers over Rs 45,000 in prize-money besides trophies, will be run around the backwoods of Mumbai on June 20.

The 110-km race, organized by Sportscraft, will be run in two sectors -- competitive [35 kms] and transport [50kms].

The rally will start from Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd., MIDC Mumbai, Powai, and run through Vikhroli, Mankurd, New Mumbai, Belapur,-CBD, Kharghar, Targar, and Nerul before terminating at the Nerul Gymkhana.

Organizing committee chairman Shrikant Karani said the country's leading riders, including last year's champion Shamim Khan,  are expected to take part in the rally.

Standard entries will be accepted till June 11, 1700 hours, while late entries will close on June 17 at 12 noon.

The rally is open to all Indian made scooters -- two stroke, four stroke and gearless.

Competition will be held in the following categories:

Above 80 upto 110cc  - Two stroke; above 80 upto 110cc  - Two stroke (Ladies Class only); above 110cc upto 160cc  – Two stroke; upto 160 cc - Four stroke.

A maximum of 40 entries on first-come-first serve basis will be accepted.
