It's been a week of emotional farewells and memorable victories in the sports universe.

World champion Usain Bolt maintained his dominance in track and field, retaining his 100 metres title at the IAAF World Championship, in Beijing, on Sunday.

While cricket saw the departure of two of its icons in modern day when Australia's Michael Clarke and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara played their respective final Tests.
