Para-athlete Hitesh Sachdeva has been banned from competing in the London Paralympics after being caught for doping.

Sachdev had qualified for London Paralympics in the Malaysia Paralympics Championships in Kuala Lumpur in April.

The 'A' sample of Sachdeva, a totally blind Uttar Pradesh shot putter, was found to contain banned steroid nandrolone. The test was done here last week.

He has been provisionally suspended and will not take part in the London Paralympic Games to be held from August 29 to September 9.

India has got five quota berths in track and field in the London Paralympic Games.

"We have got the 'A' sample result from the NADA and it is found to contain 15ml of nandrolone. He has been provisionally suspended by the UP Pralympics Association. He will not go for the Paralympics," UP Paralympics Association Secretary General Nitin Arya said.
