Olympic champ Neeraj hospitalised with high fever

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was admitted to a hospital in Panipat on Tuesday, August 17, after being down with high fever.

 

According to reports, Chopra, who was being felicitated in Panipat, stepped out of the stage midway during the programme after he felt unwell.

He was subsequently taken to hospital.

Reports suggest that the fever could have been caused due to exertion, owing to  his hectic schedule since his return from Tokyo.

On his return from Tokyo, Neeraj had tested negative for COVID-19.

Chopra, who, along with other Olympic medallists, received a hero’s welcome from Tokyo, was part called for a felicitation ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15.

Chopra won gold in the recently held Tokyo Olympics in javelin throw.
