Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo stole the limelight as Barcelona and Real Madrid drew 2-2 in a thrilling La Liga 'El Clasico' at the Nou Camp on Sunday.

The two confirmed why they are rated the best players in the world, scoring both the goals for their respective sides.

Following a stuttering start, champions Real Madrid were eight points behind their great rivals after six matches, but they had the better start to the 'Clasico' as Ronaldo fired them ahead in the 23rd minute.

A defensive lapse by Pepe allowed Messi equalise from close range eight minutes later before the Argentine World Player of the Year curled a stunning 30-yard free-kick past Iker Casillas to make it 2-1 in the 61st  minute.

But Real were level within five minutes, when Mesut Ozil slipped the ball through to Ronaldo and the Portuguese forward beat Victor Valdes for a second time with a powerful low strike.
