Ten-year-old Iraqi swimmer Amer Ali gets ready to compete in heat 2 of the men's 200m individual medley swimming event at the 15th Asian Games at the Hamad Aquatic Centre in Doha on Wednesday.

Ali, the youngest swimmer in the competition, finished last in the heat with a timing of 2:55:32. He also participated in the men's 200m backstroke and men's 100m backstroke, but failed to advance.

Infact all the three members of the Iraqi swimming squad at the Asian Games are teenagers -- the other two being Ahmed Ali (14-year-old) and Ali Ali (12-year-old).

Iraq has sent a 81-member squad to the Doha Asian Games, after a two-decade absence from the event. They last participated in the Asian Games in Seoul in 1986.
