Kahlon leaves for Florida

June 01, 2005 15:26 IST

Chandigarh's Harmeet Kahlon, ranked 46th by the Asian Professional Golf Union, left for Florida in USA for a two week coaching under Jonathan Yarwood on Wednesday.

Kahlon told PTI before leaving for Florida that the present lean period on the Asian tour would help him prepare for the busy second half schedule starting in September.

"The coaching with Yarwood will cover all aspects of the game, especially the swing, putting, chipping and bunker play," the 34-year-old Oil India employee said.

The golfer, sponsored by India Cements, has won numerous titles in the national scene during the last decade and since turning pro, Kahlon has been concentrating more on the Asian Circuit.

Kahlon's best finish this year was in the Thailand Open where he was ranked fifth.

"With a view to improve upon my swing and putting, I have decided to train under Yarwood, who coaches reputed golfer Michael Campbell," Kahlon said adding "since my first visit to Yarwood in January my performance had greatly improved."
