Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis stormed into the US Open women's doubles quarter-finals at the US Open with a straight-sets victory in the third round, at Flushing Meadows on Sunday.

The top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair eased past the 13th seeded Dutch-Czech combination of Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Strycova 6-3, 6-0 in 59 minutes.

Sania-Hingis put up a thoroughly dominating performance by holding their serve all through.

In the opening set, the top seeds broke once and sent down 14 winners, as compared to the eight by Krajicek, and Strycova to go a set up in 33 minutes.

Krajicek-Strycova were even more erratic in the second set and conceded six break-points, three of which were converted by Sania-Martina.

With nine unforced errors, Krajicek-Strycova literally served the match on a platter for Sania-Martina to wrap up the second set in just 26 minutes.

Sania-Martina will next face ninth seeds Yung-Jan Chan-Hao-Ching Chan of Chinese Taipei, who rallied to beat unseeded Romanians Irina-Camelia Begu-Raluca Olaru 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (4).
