Indian wrestlers win Rustem-e-Indo-Pak title

Indian wrestlers on Sunday beat their Pakistani counterparts to clinch Mission Dosti Rustem-E-Indo-Pak Wrestling title at Katra in Jammu.

Rehmat Ali of Punjab helped India retain the first Mission Dosti Rustem-E-Indo-Pak Wrestling title, Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association President Shiv Kumar Sharma said.

Rehmat Ali defeated his Pakistani rival Yousaf Riaz in a 17-minute final bout, Sharma said.

Rehmat Ali was awarded a silver Gadda, Patta and cash prize of Rs 11,000 and the runners-up got Rs 10,000.

In other main contests, Abdul Gani of Punjab defeated Sumit of Delhi and Kulbir Singh of Jammu defeated Safdar Ali of Lahore.

Another Pakistani Muhammed Umair of Multan defeated Indian Wrestler Benia of Udhampur.

In the six bouts, Indians won five while Pakistanis managed to win only one.
