February 01, 2009 10:14 IST

JCT staged a strong second-half rally to hold Vasco 1-1 in an ONGC I-League match at the Guru Nanak stadium in Ludhiana on Saturday.

Agnelo Calaco had put Vasco ahead in the 25th minute with a powerful drive that beat JCT keeper Karanjit Singh.

JCT wasted a couple of chances thereafter but found the equalizer in the 62 minute after intense pressure when man of the match Baljit Saini broke free into the box, beat the goalkeeper and slotted the ball home.

JCT have 16 points after 13 matches while Vasco, who had shocked Sporting Clube de Goa last week, remain at the bottom with nine points from as many outings.
