"To be contacted by players of the like of Renedy, is simply awesome and our team has a sure spot to fill him in," Lajong's coach Pradyum Reddy said.

According to Reddy, the signing of Renedy has been the most high profile signing for Lajong.

"It gives us a boost to have a national player in our team," he said, adding that Monday's practice with India's very own dead-ball specialist and one of the most experienced members of the 2011 Asian Cup squad.

Renedy represented Baichung Bhutia's Sikkim United in the I-League second division last season but continued to be in the national squad.

Lajong though said it is wary of his injuries and would seek Renedy's personal thoughts as to whether he would play in the crucial Lajong-Churchill I-League match in two days.

Like many other current Indian internationals, Renedy is a graduate of the famous TFA academy in Jamshedpur.

Queried on how he is coping with his injuries, Renedy said, "the pain is still there but lately it has improved."

Coach said Renedy practiced full time with his new team-mates on Monday.
