I-League: Pune FC register easy win over Salgaocar

Edmar Figueira scored a goal in each half to guide Pune FC to a facile 3-1 victory over Salgaocar in the 10th round of the I-League, played at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Margao, on Sunday.

Pune FC who led 1-0 at half-time scored through Edmar Figueira (24th, 81st) and Izumi Arata (74th). Salgaocar later, reduced the margin through Keita Mandjou in the 77th minute.

Pune FC now have 12 points from 10 matches while Salgaocar remained on seven points after nine encounters.

Barreto magic sinks Air India

Four goals by Brazilian Joze Ramirez Barreto helped visitors Mohun Bagan thrash Air India 5-0 in a round 10 I-League clash at the Cooperage in Mumbai on Sunday.

Barreto scored the first goal at the stroke of half-time and then found the net again in the 48th, 62nd and 69th minutes.

Kalia Kulothungan scored the other goal for the Kolkata outfit in the 58th minute.

With this win, Bagan now have 17 points from 10 matches, while Air India have just five points from nine outings.
