The biggest positive for Mohun Bagan was Odafa who set up three goals before finally putting his name to the tally.

There was more setback for the purple brigade as goalkeeper Ishan Debnath had to be rushed to hospital after colliding with their defender Deepak Mondal at the regulation time.

Virtually out of the title race, Mohun Bagan last won against Mumbai FC 0-1 in an away fixture on October 26 as the result, their third win from 12 matches, would take them to the top-half of the 13-team table.

Mohun Bagan now have 14 points, three less than United's tally after 12 rounds.

Shillong Lajong beat Salgaocar

A depleted Shillong Lajong FC fashioned a 2-1 victory over Salgaocar FC at the JN Stadium here on Friday.

There were jittery moments for the home team in the second half, but they held on to a crucial win, only their second at home in 9 outings, while Salgaocar lost their third match in a row.

Injuries before the game meant that Lajong were without captain Minchol Son and strikers Uilliams Souza Silva and Cornell Glen, but Seikhohao Tuboi and Subash Singh led the way by scoring for the hosts. Prolific striker Darryl Duffy scored for Salgaocar.
