Goa giants Dempo maintained their unbeaten record this season, defeating hosts Pune FC 3-1 for their sixth consecutive victory in I-League on Saturday.
Striker Clifford Miranda helped Dempo's pursuit of victory, his header in the 15th minute giving the visitors an early lead at the Shiv Chatrapati stadium at Balewadi.
The hosts struck back 10 minutes later with forward Jeje Lalpekhlua restoring parity.
However, midfielder Anthony Pereira and striker Ranti Martins scored in the 40th and 54th minute respectively to help Dempo strengthen their position atop of the points table.
The visitors, having won all their six games, have 18 points while Pune FC, who lost their third game, have six from as many games.
United, Salgaocar in goalless draw
United Sports Club squandered a penalty and settled for a goalless draw against defending champions Salgaocar in their sixth round I-League fixture at the flood-lit Yuba Bharati Krirangan, in Kolkata.
In the 60th minute the local outfit got a golden opportunity to go ahead when Kayne Vincent was brought down in Salgaocar's box by defender Biswajit Saha. But Vincent failed to score from the spot, his grounder going straight to Salgaocar goalkeeper Karanjit Singh.
The draw meant United remain unbeaten from six outings on 10 points, while last year's champions have seven.
Sporting Clube rout Chirag United Kerala
James Moga and Victorino Fernandes scored a goal each in the first half to guide Sporting Clube de Goa to a facile 2-0 win over Chirag United Kerala in a sixth round I-League match at the Nehru Stadium.

Moga, who returned after a match suspension, worked with nicety along with Victorino upfront and, after stitching a few moves, gained the lead in the 19th minute before consolidating it in the 30th minute.
Sporting's third win takes their tally to 12 points from six matches, the same as Mohun Bagan who are placed above Bagan at second place for having scored more number of goals.
Chirag United Kerala remained on three points from six matches.
