American cyclist Kirk O'Bee, a former team-mate of Lance Armstrong, received a lifetime ban and had his competitive results since 2005 erased after a second doping offence, the US Anti-Doping Agency said on Wednesday.

O'Bee, whose 2007 US national championship will be wiped from the record books as part of the suspension, was banned for his use of synthetic erythropoietin (EPO) and human growth hormone (hGH).

His lifetime ban, which strips all his competitive results dating back to October 2005, stems from a sample collected in an out-of-competition doping control in May 2009.

The 33-year-old O'Bee had previously received a one-year suspension after a sample collected from him in 2001 tested positive for testosterone, a prohibited anabolic agent.

He was part of seven-time Tour de France champion Armstrong's US Postal team in 2000.
