RENAULT (Fernando Alonso 1, Giancarlo Fisichella retired)

Alonso's third win in a row and Renault's fourth, the Spaniard withstanding a thrilling chase to the line by Ferrari's Michael Schumacher. Fisichella retired for the third race in succession, this time with a mystery technical problem.

-

TOYOTA (Jarno Trulli 7, Ralf Schumacher 11*)

Toyota lost ground to Renault but scored points for the third race in a row. Ralf finished eighth but picked up a 25 second penalty for a pitstop incident which dropped him to 11th. Toyota have appealed.

-

MCLAREN (Alexander Wurz 4, Kimi Raikkonen retired)

Raikkonen started on pole, McLaren's first since last July, but retired with a driveshaft failure nine laps into the race after setting a fast pace. Wurz, standing in for injured Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, drove a tactical race.

-

FERRARI (Michael Schumacher 2, Rubens Barrichello retired)

Schumacher made a storming comeback after making a mistake and qualifying 13th on the grid. He kept the same engine he used in Bahrain until his early retirement. Barrichello's car had an electrical problem and lasted only 18 laps.

-

WILLIAMS (Nick Heidfeld 8*, Mark Webber 9*)

Heidfeld finished ninth

but was promoted to eighth after Ralf's demotion while Webber moved up a place too. Both cars made poor starts and then spent the whole race in traffic.

-

RED BULL (Vitantonio Liuzzi 10*, David Coulthard 13)

Liuzzi made a clean Formula One debut but found his car sliding all over the place. Coulthard lost his status as one of just two drivers to have scored in every race this year. He had a collision with Sauber's Felipe Massa which broke part of his car's floor.

-

BAR (Jenson Button 3, Takuma Sato 5)

BAR scored points for the first time this season. Button was running second until Schumacher passed him at the Variante Alta. Sato was stuck in traffic at the beginning.

-

SAUBER (Jacques Villeneuve 6, Felipe Massa 12)

Villeneuve's first points after coming under fire for his performances in the first three races. Massa was still in neutral when the race started. He then suffered brake fade, touched Coulthard's rear wheel and lost his front wing.

JORDAN (Narain Karthikeyan 14, Tiago Monteiro 15)

Still no points for Jordan. Monteiro suffered a puncture near the end.

-

MINARDI (Christijan Albers and Patrick Friesacher retired)
