The Spain international currently leads the scoring charts in the English Premier League with 17 goals.

His heap of goals have helped the Blues to the top spot in the table.

The former Atletico Madrid ace insists winning domestic honours is more important than individual glory.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Costa said: 'Of course it is nice to be the top scorer but when I came here my aim was to win the league.'

The 26-year-old’s physical presence at 6-foot-2 and 178 pounds only aids his powerful style of play.

2. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Sergio Aguero has scored 14 goals so far in the league. The Argentine can certainly produce the guile and goals to his his side's pursuit of leaders Chelsea. He was unstoppable before he limped off in tears clutching his knee at The Etihad nearly two months ago. On his return though he still has to find the net in four games he's played.

3. Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers)

Charlie Austin has moved through the divisions from League Two to League One and from the Championship into the Premier League. With 13 goals so far in the league his new found fame has lit up football this season.

The 25-year-old’s 13 goals are primarily responsible for keeping Rangers' head above water in the choppy waves of the relegation fight.

Harry Kane's splendid form this season has already shattered his own expectations. The forward has emerged the spearhead for Tottenham Hotspur's bid to secure a Champions League place.

The 21-yea-old was not even figuring in Mauricio Pochettino's first-team plans earlier this season but with 10 goals so far he has cemented his place.

Also, Kane's rapid progress is certain to be rewarded with a place in Roy Hodgson's England squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania in March 27.
