Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that he wants to see Pep Guardiola take charge of Manchester City one day, saying that the most coveted coach in football can turn out to be important for the club.

Pellegrini, who recently signed a 12-month extension contract with City, didn't want to leave Etihad at the moment.

Bayern's Chief Executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Sunday that club manager Guardiola will be replaced by former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti at the end of this season.

Reflecting on the same, Pellegrini believes that the 44-year-old Spaniard would probably join City as he also wanted to work in Premier League.

He added that Guardiola had experience of working in other leagues, adding that he would definitely look forward to join City.

Pellegrini, however, said that he would try his best to clinch maximum trophies for City till the time he remains in the club.

City are currently at the third spot in the league standings with 32 points, having ten wins from 16 games they have played.

City, who finished as leaders in group standings of Champions League, will lock horns with Arsenal in their next league clash on December 22.
