I-League and Federation Cup champions Salgaocar began their campaign in the Durand Cup football tournament with a solitary goal win over Border Security Force in Delhi [ Images ] on Friday.

Salgaocar, fresh from their Federation Cup triumph last month, dominated the proceedings but failed to score till Chidi Edeh found the match-winner in the 75th minute of the quarter-final league match.

In another quarter-final, at the Ambedkar Stadium, United Sikkim blanked Indian Air Force 3-0.

Former India [ Images ] captain Bhaichung Bhutia scored in the 89th minute after John Babatunde (45th) and Sushil Kumar [ Images ] Singh (88th) put United Sikkim ahead.
