Daniel Chopra made a brilliant recovery with three birdies in the space of four holes from the 14th to register his best finish of the year in tied fifth place at the AT and T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
The Sweden-born Indian, a former winner on the Asian Tour, shot a one-under 71 in the final round after being two-over at one stage.
Chopra, lying tied eighth overnight, totalled 10-under 278 with rounds of 71, 67, 69 and 71 and his earnings for the week were USD 205,200 which will see him rise up the Money List.
The 33-year-old's best this year had been tied 27th, though he has made cuts in each of his five starts.
Arjun Atwal had earlier missed the cut, which came after three rounds.
On the Money list, Chopra is now 26th, up from 72nd last week, while Atwal slipped to 29th from 25th last week.
Arron Oberholser coasted to a five-shot win over Rory Sabbatini, while Mike Weir collapsed and ended with a 78 and in tied third.
Oberholser had a six-shot lead with six holes to play when he took bogey from the fairway bunker on the 13th.
A flared second shot on the par-5 14th went under a tree in the right rough, forcing him to punch out sideways and escape with a bogey.
Then came his tee shot on the 15th, even farther to the right. It hit the cart path twice and was headed for trouble when it bounced off a tree and kicked back into an opening.
With a view of the green, Oberholser hit wedge into 8 feet and turned the potential disaster into a birdie to restore his margin.
The course was the 31-year-old Oberholser's home course.
It was Oberholser's first win 76 starts on the PGA Tour.
He earned USD 972,000 and also earned a place into the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship at La Costa.
Sabbatini closed with a 70 to finish second, although he was never a factor.
The win also ended unpleasant memories for Oberholser, who was tied for lead after three days with Vijay Singh, but then blew it away.
