Match against Lee-Hesh will be fun: Dancevic

January 02, 2011 22:06 IST

Canadian tennis star Frank Dancevic, who along with Stanislas Wawrinka will face star Indian pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi at the Chennai Open, knows that their opening match is a tough one but promised a good fight against the crowd favourites on Monday.

"Stan and I are playing together for the first time. Stan is a really good player and he won the gold medal along with Roger Federer at the 2008 Olympics. I think it'll be a fun match," he said on Sunday.

He admitted that the Paes-Bhupathi pair would have the home advantage.

"They're great players and I've heard about the crowd support here. They'll have the home advantage, of course."

Dancevic did not believe that the ageing Indian players would have any disadvantage. Paes is 37 and Bhupathi is 36.

"I don't think age matters much in doubles. (Daniel) Nestor is world number two or three at 38, so I don't think it really matters."

The 26-year-old said his goal for the season is to stay injury free. "I am coming back on the tour from injury so I want to be fit and injury-free in time for Wimbledon," he said.
