Chelsea's Mourinho eyeing 40 mln pound Suarez swoop

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking to bring in Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in a sensational 40 million-pound move.

Luis SuarezAs Suarez has a clause in his contract which forces Liverpool to listen to 40 million-pound-plus offers, Chelsea is ready to test Liverpool's resolve not to sell the Uruguayan even though the club has already knocked back an enquiry by Arsenal, the Mirror reports.

Although the report said that Liverpool would be determined not to sell another striker to Chelsea after Fernando Torres made the switch for 50 million pounds two and a half years ago, it, however added that Chelsea is a club which could be willing to go above 40 million pounds for their top transfer target.

The report also said that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has the financial clout to back Mourinho in his quest for a top class striker, adding that the club is now looking for Suarez after moves for Hulk, Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani failed.

However, Suarez has publicly desired for a move to Real Madrid although the Spaniards have yet to make their move.
