The 23rd Vasai Taluka Kala Krida Mahotsav 2012 was a huge success with over 45,000 participants and an encouraging audience turning up.
The event, staged to encourage up-and-coming talent, featured sport, culture and literature.
The likes of boxer Vijender Singh, cricketer Rajesh Chauhan, swimmers Virdhawal Khade and footballer Bhaichung Bhutia graced the occasion.
Bhutia was overwhelmed by the event.
"I was completely bowled over by the energy and thrill amongst all youngsters here. This is the first time I am visiting Vasai but it has pleasantly surprised me how this part of the city has taken up to sports," he said.
