October 12, 2012 18:05 IST

After a blistering 63 in the opening round, Gaganjeet Bhullar added a more modest three-under 68 to move to 11-under 131 after the second round of the US $750,000 Venetian Macau Open on Friday.

He held a three-shot lead over Thai newcomer Thitiphun Chuayprakong.

Just like the opening day, the 24-year-old Bhullar had a bogey on the opening hole, but this time it was the tenth, from where he teed off. He then birdied the 13th, second, third and sixth holes at the Macau Golf and Country Club.

Among the other Indians, Shiv Kapur made a smart move up from overnight 34th to tied 15th with a round of 67 that now puts him at five-under for 36 holes.

Himmat Rai added a 70 to go to three-under. Ajeetesh Sandhu added a 71 to his first round 70 and at one-under 141, he was tied 40th.

Missing the cut were Anirban Lahiri, who after a tough round of 77 dropped to three-over at 145, and SSP Chowrasia (75), who is six-over at 148.
