Bhupathi-Paes in doubles final

The ace Indian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes advanced to the final of the men's doubles tennis tournament at the Asian Games on Thursday, but not before surviving a scare.

Bhupathi-Paes beat South Korea's Kim Dong-Hyun and Kwon Oh-Hee 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to set up a meeting with South Korea's Hee Seok Chung and Hyung Taik Lee.

In the other semi-final, the Koreans beat the other Indian pair of Vishal Uppal and Mustafa Ghouse 6-4, 6-4.

In the mixed doubles semi-finals too, India had mixed fortunes as Paes and Sania Mirza lost to Janet Whids Lee and Yen Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei 6-7, 5-7, while Bhupathi and Manisha Malhotra beat Iroda Tulyaganova and Oleg Ogodrov of Uzbekistan 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
