Toyota drivers sent to back of grid

March 29, 2009 09:06 IST

Toyota's [Images] Jarno Trulli [Images] and Timo Glock [Images] were sent to the back of the Australian Grand Prix starting grid on Saturday after stewards ruled their cars breached regulations.

The governing International Automobile Federation (FIA) said in a statement that the upper rear wing elements of the two cars were too flexible and the cars were excluded from the official qualifying classification.

German Glock had qualified sixth with Italian Trulli in eighth place for Sunday's Formula One season-opener.

The decision moved McLaren's [Images] world champion Lewis Hamilton [Images] ahead of them and up to 18th place.
