Paes, Sania advance in Miami March 28, 2009 12:23 IST Leander Paes [Images] and Lukas Dlouhy [Images] made a spectacular start to their campaign in the US $4,500,000 Miami [Images] Masters, storming into the doubles pre-quarter-finals after a crushing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Fernando Gonzalez [Images] and Juan Monaco. The fourth seeded Indo-Czech pair took just 46 minutes to dispatch the Chilean pair in the first round. In the women's event, Sania Mirza [Images] and Chinese Taipei's Chia-Jung Chuang earned a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 win over the Czech combination of Iveta Benesova and Barbora Strycova Zahlavova to advance to the pre-quarter-finals. Paes-Dlouhy converted four break-points and saved three on their own serve to run away with the first set. The second set too belonged to the winners as they converted both the break-points that came their way to seal the issue. Sania and Chuang converted two break-points in the first set and saved two. In the second set, seven breaks were traded with the Indo-Taipei pair getting four en route to victory. Mahesh Bhupathi [Images] and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles [Images], seeded third, will open their campaign against French pair of Julien Benneteau and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
