Paes-Lipsky go down in Auckland final

Leander Paes [Images] and his American doubles partner Scott Lipsky went down in the final of the Auckland Open on Saturday.

They were beaten by top seeds Martin Damm [Images] of Czech Republic and Robert Lindstedt of Sweden 7-5, 6-4.

It was the 36-year-old Damm's 38th career doubles title, while Lindstedt has four.

Paes was in line for his 500th doubles win. By entering the final at Auckland, after a 6-3, 6-7(4), 10-7 win over Paul Hanley [Images] and Jordan Kerr of Australia [Images], he completed 499 victories.
