Manchester United [Images] striker Carlos Tevez [Images] has had his 140,000-pounds ($205,300) car seized after he failed to provide a valid UK driving licence.

The 25-year-old Argentine was stopped near United's Old Trafford ground because police thought the tinted windows on his white Bentley could be illegal.

"Shortly after 0920 GMT on Friday officers pulled over a Bentley close to junction 7 of the M60," a Greater Manchester police spokesman said on Saturday.

"The officers were concerned certain windows were illegally tinted. They were tested and found to be too dark so a prohibition notice was issued to the driver.

"When asked to provide his documentation, it was discovered the driver did not have a full UK driving licence and was advised to arrange removal of the car.

"As he could not arrange this, the car was removed under Section 165 of Road Traffic Act 1988."

Tevez is the second high-profile United player to have car trouble this year after Cristiano Ronaldo [Images] wrecked his Ferrari [Images] when he collided with a tunnel wall in January.
