Pankaj Advani [Images] advanced to the final of the ONGC [Get Quote] IBSF time-format World Billiards Championship defeating Geet Sethi 1269-1003 in Bangalore on Tuesday.

In the all-Indian semi-final played over two sessions at the Karnataka State Billiards Association hall, the 23-year-old Bangalorean shut-out the veteran, who appeared to be off-colour in the first outing.

Advani led 726-425 in the first session and then made it 1269-1003 in the second to emerge a deserving victor.

He is in line for a double in the ongoing championship as he had pocketed the point format of the Championship on Friday, defeating eight time champion Sethi in a one-sided title round.

Advani will meet Devendra Joshi in the final to be played on Wednesday.

In the other semi-final, Joshi notched a 1228-820 win over Rupesh Shah.

Joshi led 551-361 after the first session.

Meanwhile, a disappointed Sethi said he failed to perform well in the match against Advani.

"My hand was still heavy and I could not control the ball well", he said. "...I failed to perform well. It's sickening. I could see things going wrong but could not do anything about it".
