Reigning national champion and top seed Joshna Chinappa asserted her supremacy by clinching the women's title with a facile victory over local girl Surabhi Mishra in the Jaipur [Images] club Harish Chandra Golecha squash tournament in Jaipur on Wednesday.

The world number 37 and eight-time national champion Joshna Chinappa pocketed the title with an 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 victory.

Surabhi lost the first game tamely but fought hard in the second.

She led 9-4 at one point but unforced errors did her in and Joshna with all her experience did not let go the chance.

Meanwhile, in the girls under-15 final Saumya Karki of Mumbai drubbed Shreya Khatri 11-5, 11-6, 11-2.

The boys under-17 final saw Ravi Dixit rallying to beat Mahesh Mangaonkar 8-11, 11-3, 11-5, 11-5. The top seed in boys under-13 section Kush Kumar beat Raghav Mehrotra 11-6, 11-9, 11-2 to clinch the title.

Earlier in the men's section, top seed Mohammad Asyraf Azan and Harendra Pal Singh made it to the finals.

Top seed Azan of Malaysia was up against Paramjeet Singh. The Malaysian won the first two games 11-7, 11-2 but Paramjeet gave a tough fight helped by the top seed's mounting unforced errors.

Some deft placements saw Paramjeet taking a 12-11 lead. Asyraf also started limping after developing a right knee injury. But Paramjeet could not hold his nerves and the top seed won the game 14-12 and wrapped up the match.

In the second semi-final, second seed Harendra Pal Singh had to fight hard to overcome Vikram Malhotra. He prevailed 11-4, 9-11, 11-6, 14-12 to set up a title clash with Asyraf.
