Indian top seed Sunil Kumar Sipaeya was shocked in the second round of the USD 10,000 ITF tournament in Lahore [Images] even as Vikram B Reddy and Rupesh Roy advanced to the quarter-finals of the hardcourt event.

Unseeded Patrick Taubert of Germany [Images] defeated Sipaeya 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals.

However, Vikram put up a fine show as he ousted Georgia's seventh seed Lazare Kukhalashvili 7-6(4), 6-4 in his second round match.

Also advancing was Rupesh, who made a brilliant comeback to shock Ukraine's sixth seed Vadim Alekseenko 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 en route to last eight stage.

Yannick Nelord, though, could not succeed against local favourite Aqeel Khan, losing to the Pakistani third seed 5-7, 2-6.
